Zavisubin pitches Sehome to a 4-1 victory

Felix Zavisubin won his fifth game of the season to lead Sehome’s baseball team to a 4-1 victory against Blaine on Thursday, April 30, at Joe Martin Field.

Mariners Gage Bull hit a two-run single in the third inning to get Sehome started. Owen Wright went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Cameron Tipton went 2 for 3 with a double. Borderites’ Jalen Kortlever went 1 for 4, Jonathan Starcer went 2 for 4 with a double and Rudy Nolasco went 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

“Felix was lights out. His pitches were right on the knees most of the night,” Sehome coach Gary Hatch said in a phone interview. “Owen Wright has done an outstanding job setting up hitters at catcher.”

Sehome will take on Ferndale next at 4 p.m. Monday, May 4, on the road. Blaine will play Meridian next at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Pipeline Fields.
