Borderites suffer tough loss to La Conner

Blaine’s baseball team didn’t bring its best effort and lost to La Conner 7-4 on Wednesday, April 29, at La Conner High School.

Rudy Nolasco was credited with the loss, as the Borderites committed seven errors on the night.

“Just a very poor effort,” coach Larry Hoffman said in a phone interview. “They wanted it way more than we did today. We didn’t get it done in any aspect of the game. Seven errors is mind-boggling.”

Ben Hodgin and Jonathan Starcer each picked up two hits for Blaine, which scored all four of its runs in the sixth inning.

The Borderites try to rebound against Sehome on Thursday, April 30.
