Lyncs take advantage of Trojans’ errors

Lynden Christian’s softball team only had one earned run but came away with a 9-0 win against Meridian on Wednesday, April 29, at Meridian High School.

Both the Storm and the Lyncs had seven hits in the game, but Meridian committed six errors on defense.

“We left 10 runners on base and didn’t bat them around,” Meridian coach Megan Monaghan said in a phone interview. “If we could string hits together and take away the errors we would be good to go.”

Allison Smit went 2 for 3 for Lynden Christian. Madeline Gray, McKenna Smith and Bailey Haugen went 2 for 4 to lead the Trojans.

Lynden Christian will take on Sehome next at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at Geri Fields. Meridian will play Squalicum next at 4 p.m. Friday, May 1, at home.
