Red Raiders’ bats stay hot against Storm

Bellingham’s softball team scored in all but one inning of a 17-1 Northwest Conference win in five innings over Squalicum on Friday, April 24, at Squalicum.

Eliza Rossman led the Red Raiders by earning the win in the circle with 10 strikeouts, and was 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and five RBI.

“We again showed pretty good plate discipline with 10 walks or so,” Bellingham coach Rick Ellis said in a phone interview. “We waited for pitches we could handle. It’s been a pretty good week for us swinging the bats. We scored in all but two innings this week in our three games.”

Anna Wilson led the Storm by going 1 for 1 at the dish with an RBI.

Bellingham hosts Anacortes at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at home. Squalicum hosts Sedro-Woolley at 4:30 p.m. the same day, at home.
