Lummi loses to La Conner 13-3

Lummi‘s baseball team was defeated 13-3 by La Conner on Tuesday, April 21, at Lummi High School.

Jonathan Casimir received the loss in the game. Tavarez Lane went 2 for 4 with two runs and two stolen bases to lead the Blackhawks at the plate.

Lummi was down 4-3 in the fourth inning until La Conner scored nine runs the next three innings to pull away for the win.

“We started off really well,” Lummi coach Jim Sandusky said in a phone interview. “We were hanging fairly tight up until the fourth inning. We had some scoring opportunities in the game but didn’t capitalize on them.”

Lummi will play Burlington-Edison next at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at home.
