Ferndale scores 6 runs in fifth inning of 7-3 win

Ferndale’s baseball team scored a run in the first and six runs in the fifth inning to beat Nooksack Valley 7-3 in six innings due to inclement weather on Tuesday, April 21, at Nooksack Valley High School.

Kyle Sandstrom went 1 for 3 with a run and Conner Erickson went 1 for 2 with two runs and an RBI to lead Ferndale. Curtis Handy went 1 for 3 with an RBI, Michael Jackson went 1 for 3 with an RBI to lead Nooksack Valley.

“It was another game where we were right there at the end,” Nooksack Valley coach Scott Gelwicks said in a phone interview. “We just couldn’t close it out.”

Nooksack Valley will take on Lynden next at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, on the road.
