Westford leads Ferndale’s offense in 28-0 win

Ferndale’s softball team was aggressive at the plate in its 28-0 victory against Oak Harbor on Monday, April 20, at Oak Harbor High School.

The Golden Eagles had 24 hits in the game and only allowed one hit by Oak Harbor.

“We were really patient at the plate in the first inning and found ways to get on base,” Ferndale coach Holly Hilton said in a phone interview. “Then we started hitting. It felt good today.”

Ferndale was led by Drew Westford at the plate, who went 4 for 4 with three triples and four RBI. Lauren Maley went 3 for 4 with a double, a triple and three RBI. Gabby Edison went 3 for 4 with a double, two RBI and two stolen bases. Erika Ebe went 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBI. Kadence Kane went 2 for 3 with three RBI.

Maley earned the win in the circle today for the Golden Eagles.

Ferndale will take on Sedro-Woolley next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at Janicki Fields.
