Ferndale’s 9-run third inning big in its 15-0 victory

Ferndale’s softball team had the hot bats against Meridian with its 15 hits in a 15-0 victory on Thursday, April 16, at Ferndale High School.

Golden Eagles Erika Ebe went 2 for 2 with a double and three RBI. Lauren Maley went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. Gabby Edison went 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI and a stolen base.

“I was real pleased they made adjustments at the plate and started getting some hits,” Ferndale coach Holly Hilton said in a phone interview. “They were focused, playing hard and swinging the bat well. I’m really happy with that.”

Trojans Keana Waugh went 1 for 2 with a double. Claire Burkett went 1 for 2 and Bailey Haugen went 1 for 2.

Ferndale will take on Oak Harbor next on Monday, April 20, on the road. Meridian takes on Lynden next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, on the road.
