Gabby Gorosave had a perfect day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBI to lead Sehome’s softball team in a 13-3 victory against Bellingham on Tuesday, April 14, at Frank Geri Field.
Mallory Kruzich picked up her seventh win of the season for the Mariners, who had an eight-run third inning to pull away from the Red Raiders.
Takiley Watkins went 2 for 3 with a double, one run and two RBI. Tori McDowell went 2 for 4 with a triple, three runs and two RBI to help Sehome at the plate. Bellingham’s Julia Latimer went 1 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored, Carrie Latimer went 1 for 2 with a double.
“We shook off the spring break layover a bit,” Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. “Eliza (Rossman) did a good job. We finally got to her in the third.”
Sehome will take on Nooksack Valley next at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, at Nooksack Middle School and Bellingham will play Lynden next at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at home.
