Squalicum’s David Stealy out-pitched Burlington-Edison’s Drew Larson as the Storm’s baseball team earned a 2-0 Northwest Conference win on Tuesday, April 7, at Burlington-Edison.
Stealy threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout, walking none and striking out seven. Larson also threw a complete game, but walked three and struck out four.
“A lot of great defense and two great pitching performances,” Squalicum coach John Inge said of the game in a phone interview. “It was David’s best outing of the year. He was in command. He pitched ahead, had a good fastball that he didn’t have his last outing, and his curve was still good.”
Tim Lann was 2 for 2 with an RBI and double to lead the Storm on offense. Ernie Yake was also 1 for 3 with an RBI.

“Tim Lann gave us a really big game,” Inge said. “He had the big hit that broke the ice and he played good defense. Lann, Ernie Yake and Drew Segren were all outstanding defensively.”
Squalicum takes a week off before a game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Lynden Christian.
