Mariners offense rolls in win over Lyncs

Sehome scored at least two runs in every inning of a 13-3 five-inning Northwest Conference win over Lynden Christian on Thursday, April 2, at Lynden Christian.

Felix Zavisubin led the Lyncs, going 2 for 3 at the plate with a double and a run.

“They are a good-hitting team, a quality team and we came out a bit flat today and got out-played on offense,” Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview.

Taiji VanDalen was 1 for 1 with a run scored, and pitched well in the final two innings, Luna said.

“VanDalen did his job,” Luna said. “He threw a lot of strikes. Our defense was not stellar tonight. I was very impressed with him throwing a bunch of strikes for us.”

Sehome hosts Bellingham at 4 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Joe Martin Field. Lynden Christian plays at 4 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Anacortes.
