Bellingham’s softball team won three of its four games last week (March 23-March 29) and with strong team performances usually comes strong individual performances. That individual was third baseman Justina Allen last week.
She hit .733 with three doubles, five runs and 12 RBI in four outings and was named Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Class 2A girls’ Athlete of the Week for her efforts.
The award is given to 12 people per week — a boy and girl from each classification. Each winner receives a letter of recognition from the WIAA Executive Director, a commemorative WIAA Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate.
The Red Raiders are currently 4-4 on the season.
