Lynden Christian’s softball team saw its bats come alive in a 21-6 win in five innings on Wednesday, April 1, at Coupeville in a nonconference game.
Allison Smit led the Lyncs, going 4 for 4 with a triple and five RBI. Riley Van Hulzen was also 3 for 4 with a double, triple and five RBI.
“We’ve been playing some tough competition with the Sehomes and Lyndens of the world, so to play Coupeville where we could work on some things was nice,” LC coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. “We’ve been working on having an aggressive attitude at the plate, and the girls responded well to the challenge we put in front of them today.”
Jenah Korthuis was also 2 for 3 with four runs scored for the Lyncs.
