Lynden Christian’s baseball team found the pitching it needed in the final four innings to hold on for a 7-6 10-inning win Tuesday, March 31, at Coupeville in a nonleague game.
Marc Meenderinck earned the win with four scoreless final innings for the Lyncs. The Lyncs scored the winning run in the top of the 10th after getting a runner on base on an error, and the Coupeville pitcher walked three straight batters to allow the run.
“Marc came in for the last four and threw extremely well,” Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview. “He just bulldogged through the last four.”
Shane Whittern was 1 for 3 with a run, and Dylan Meenk went 1 for 4 with a run and an RBI.
