Riley Miller went 3 for 3 with a double, two runs and four RBI to lead Blaine’s softball team to a 13-3 win against Squalicum in a Northwest Conference game on Monday, March 30, at Pipeline Fields.
Lyric Berry earned her first win of the season for Blaine and the Storms’ Dakota Littlefield received the loss.
The Borderites scored 11 runs in the final two innings to pull away for the victory. Hanna Kiele went 2 for 4 with a triple, two runs and two RBI. Taylor Miller went 1 for 1 with three runs and an RBI.
“It was our first win this season and we needed it as a group,” Blaine coach Alisa Burk said in a phone interview. “The girls stepped up and they turned it on in the fourth (inning).”

The Storm’s Kaeli Andersen went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBI, Sheffy Williams and Jessie Alvord went 1 for 3 with a run scored to lead Squalicum.
Blaine will take on Nooksack Valley next at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, on the road and Squalicum takes on Meridian next at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, on the road.
