Ferndale pitching duo no-hits Bellingham

Amanda Baker and Lauren Maley combined to throw a no-hitter for Ferndale’s softball team in its 2-0 Northwest Conference win over Bellingham on Monday, March 30, at Ferndale.

The Golden Eagles’ duo struck out 14 Red Raiders as Maley took the win.

“I think they were both hitting their spots and controlling their game really well,” Ferndale coach Holly Hilton said. “I also think Bellingham is going to be a force. They played an outstanding game and their pitcher (Eliza Rossman) played well. We had a hard time stringing hits together and she got us chasing.”

Kadence Kane led Ferndale on offense, going 1 for 3 with an RBI triple. Skylar Robison was also 1 for 3, hitting a double and scoring a run.

Ferndale hits the road for the first of three games in a row at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Marysville-Pilchuck for a nonconference game. Bellingham looks to get its bats going at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Mount Baker in an NWC game.
