Squalicum secures first win of season

Dakota Littlefield earned her first win of the season for Squalicum’s softball team, as the Storm went on to beat Mariner 18-4 on Saturday, March 28, at Squalicum High School.

The Storm’s Kaeli Andersen went 3 for 4 with three RBI, Anna Wilson went 2 for 4 with four RBI and Littlefield went 2 for 4 with four RBI to lead the team.

“We had pretty good defense and swung the bats well,” Squalicum coach Loran Zenonian said in a phone interview. “We kept the potential big innings by Mariner out of our way.”

The win is also the first for Squalicum’s softball program since April 16, 2013.

“We were excited for that to happen,” Zenonian added.

Squalicum will take on Blaine next at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, at Pipeline Fields.
