Squalicum have hot bats in 14-0 victory

Connor Sage pitched four innings and struck out seven batters to lead Squalicum’s baseball team to a 14-0 victory over La Conner on Saturday, March 28, at Squalicum High School.

Sage earned his second win of the season, and Logan James received the loss for La Conner.

“It was a well pitched game by Connor,” Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview.

The Storm had 12 hits, led by Ernie Yake, who finished 2 for 3 with two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases. Kyle Little went 2 for 4 with two RBI and two stolen bases for Squalicum.

“We swung the bats well and ran the bases hard,” Inge said. “A good all around performance.”

Squalicum takes on Blaine next at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Pipeline Fields.
