Borderites earn road win over Highline

Blaine took advantage of some early pitching woes by Highline for a 6-2 win Friday, March 27, at Highline.

The Borderites were led by Josh Fakkema’s 2-for-4 performance, which included an RBI and two runs. Cody Gobbato was also 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run.

Anthony Ball paced Blaine on the mound, going the full seven innings with five strikeouts and four walks.

“He threw a bunch of strikes. Only needed 90 pitches to get the complete game,” Blaine coach Larry Hoffman said in a phone interview. “That was a little further than I’d have liked, but he still looked strong. We played good defense behind him.”

The Borderites are back in action at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Cascade High School in Leavenworth.
