Kruzich, McDowell lead Mariners to 10-3 win

Sehome’s Tori McDowell went 4 for 5 with two runs, three RBI and three doubles to lead her team to a 10-3 win over Burlington-Edison in a Northwest Conference game on Friday, March 27, at Burlington-Edison.

Mallory Kruzich improved to 4-2 with the win, striking out seven Tigers and only taking one earned run.

“Mallory pitched by far her best game, maybe as a pitcher in general,” Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. “She was hitting her spots. One of her pitches was really moving, even in warm-ups. Sometimes certain pitches just work.”

Gabby Gorosave also went 2 for 4 with a run, two RBI, a double and a walk, and Carissa McDowell was 2 for 3 with a run and a double.

Sehome hosts Mount Baker at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, in another Northwest Conference game.
