Golden Eagles shut out Lyncs

Ferndale’s softball team shut out Lynden Christian for a 10-0 win in five innings in a Northwest Conference game on Thursday, March 26, at Lynden Christian.

Amanda Baker got the win for Ferndale, as it held Lynden Christian to just three hits.

Kadence Kane was 2 for 4 with a two-run home run to add the ninth and 10th runs for the Golden Eagles.

Sam Van Loo was 1 for 2 for the Lyncs.

“We made six physical errors tonight, so none were mental, but they’re getting better everyday,” Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. “Those errors are fixable mistakes, but they are what they are and we’ll try to shore those things up.”

Lynden Christian hosts Lynden in another NWC game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at home. Ferndale takes on Mount Vernon in a nonconference game at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Mount Vernon.
