Golden Eagles’ Puhan holds LC to 2 hits

Ferndale’s Corbin Puhan held Lynden Christian to two hits in a 10-0 win in five innings on Thursday, March 26, at Lynden Christian in a Northwest Conference game.

Ty VanDyken was the only Lyncs player to manage a hit, garnering two of them. Josh Heutink took the loss on the mound.

Kyler Brudwick was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored for Ferndale, and Ian Barnes was 2 for 3 with a run.

“We couldn’t square anything up today, (Puhan) threw a lot of strikes,” Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview. “It was actually a pretty good ball game through four innings, and then Josh got tired in the fifth. Ty is a freshman and we’ve put him in the leadoff. He’s going to be pretty good, had a couple of decent hits today and his swing is coming around.”

Lynden Christian hosts Lynden at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, at home. Ferndale hosts Bellingham at 4 p.m. the same day.
