Meridian’s boys’ baseball team made some uncharacteristic errors throughout the game and allowed four runs in the seventh, as the Trojans fell 9-6 to Overlake in non-league play on Thursday, March 26, at Meridian High School.
Tanner Tutterrow started the game for the Trojans and threw six innings, settling down after some early struggles. Dalton Biehle pitched the seventh and struggled to find the strike zone and Overlake took advantage.
“We’re just young,” Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. “It’s going to take some experience. We’re going through some growing pains a little bit as players try to step into their roles.”
The bats were working for the Trojans, though, as they picked up six runs on 12 hits. Biehle went 3 for 3, Tutterrow went 2 for 4 and Derek Campfield went 4 for 4.
