Meridian’s baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 3-2 win over Lynden in a non-conference game on Tuesday, March 26, at home.
“It was a bit of a sloppy game and early in the season both teams made their share of mistakes, we just happened to make a few less,” Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. “We didn’t walk anyone, and that’s what we strive for.”
Brady Moore was 1 for 3 with a double to lead Meridian, and Tanner Tutterow, Dalton Biehle and Brenton Fox each went 1 for 3.
Jordan Wittenberg was 2 for 3 for Lynden and kept his team in the game with solid defense at shortstop, Slesk said.
