Rossman’s 13 strikeouts leads Bellingham over Meridian

Eliza Rossman struck out 13 Trojans and walked one to lead her Bellingham softball team to a 16-3 non-conference win on Tuesday, March 24, at Meridian.

Rossman also went 3 for 4 at the plate with three doubles.

“Our offense was not there today,” Meridian coach Megan Monaghan said in a phone interview. “We just weren’t being aggressive at the plate. On defense, the balls just got to the gaps and we made a couple errors.”

Emma Weg took the loss for Meridian, but only walked three. She was also 1 for 3 with a double on offense.

Meridian tries to bounce back at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at La Conner. Bellingham hosts Nooksack Valley at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, at home.
