Sehome just falls short in 14-13 loss

Mandy Warner led Lynden’s softball team in its 14-13 win over Sehome, going 4 for 5 with a double and scoring four runs on Saturday, March 21, at Daniels Field.

Hannah Rothwell earned the win for Lynden, and Mallory Kruzich received the loss for Sehome.

“It was back and forth the whole time,” Sehome coach Jim Emerson said in a phone interview. “It was a well-played game. An awful lot of hitting for the fans to watch.”

Sehome had a chance to tie the game, but the tying run was thrown out at the plate.

Gabby Gorosave went 4 for 5 with three doubles, three runs scored and two RBI to lead the Mariners.

Sehome takes on Anacortes next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at home. Lynden plays against Meridian next at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 23, on the road.
