Lyncs fall behind early in 13-3 loss

Lynden Christian’s softball team fell to an early 5-0 deficit after the first inning and couldn’t get find its rhythm in a 13-3 loss on Saturday, March 21, at Mountain Goat Fields.

“We’re still a young and inexperienced team,” Lynden Christian coach Mitch Moorlag said in a phone interview. “We’re learning and making strides in the positive direction.”

The Lyncs’ Ellie Vander Veen batted 2 for 3 with a triple and Sam Van Loo went 2 for 3.

“Ellie has been in the lead off spot for us the first couple games. She gets on base and puts the ball in play hard,” Moorlag said.

Lynden Christian plays Squalicum next at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at home.
