Kyle Little hit an opposite-field home run to lead Squalicum’s baseball team to a 7-1 win over Archbishop Murphy on Thursday, March 19, at home.
Little finished the game a perfect 3 for 3 with two runs, two RBI and a double to go along with his home run.
David Stealy improved to 2-0 with the win for the Storm. Carter Nickelson was also 2 for 3 with two runs, an RBI and a double.
“Defensively we had great plays from Ernie Yake and Ben Tripp. Just tough plays at short and a great job by our catcher calling the game and being in command,” Squalicum coach John Inge said in a phone interview. “David didn’t have his best stuff, but had a gutty outing on a slippery mound.”
Squalicum takes on Bellingham at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at either Joe Martin Stadium or Bellingham High School, depending on Joe Martin’s field conditions.
