Tanner Tutterow got Meridian’s baseball team going with a strong performance on offense and defense, going four innings with no hits and batting 3 for 4 to lead the Trojans to a 10-0 victory over Mount Baker on Thursday, March 19, at Meridian High School.
Mount Baker’s Jesse Wardle took the loss in the game and Carson Schmidt led the Mountaineers with a double in the middle of the game.
“We took a while to get going, but we were making plays early in the game,” Meridian coach Steve Slesk said in a phone interview. “I thought we swung the bat good once we got going.”
Both teams were tied at zero going into the bottom of the third inning. The Trojans were able to strike first with four runs in that inning and never looked back.
