“Their pitcher was pretty good tonight. We’ve seen him a few times before,” Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview. “We just couldn’t square any pitches up today. Alex threw four innings and Tanner (Jansen) threw two. I knew it was going to be tough early since most of these guys have never pitched before. Alex struggled early with the strike zone, but then he settled in for the next few innings and our defense let us down. It’s just something you don’t pick up overnight. He’s going to get better and he got better today.”
Lynden Christian takes on Burlington-Edison at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at home.
