Storm manages just one hit in loss to La Conner

Squalicum suffered a 10-1 loss to La Conner in a nonconference game, only managing one hit in the process, on Wednesday, March 18, at La Conner.

Anna Wilson had the Storm’s only hit, and also came around to score their one run in the game.

“They had a pretty good pitcher, a little bit of a speed demon,” Squalicum coah Loran Zenonian said in a phone interview. “We made contact and only struck out a couple of times. We played better today than yesterday defensively and pitching-wise, we just struggled on offense a little.”

Shortstop Sheffy Williams stood out for the Storm on defense, making plays that kept the team in the game, Zenonian said.

Squalicum plays again at noon, Saturday, March 21, at Bellingham in a nonconference game.
