Mount Baker’s softball team survived a Sehome seventh-inning rally to win 10-9 on Tuesday, March 17, at Mount Baker High School.

Aleks Toivola earned her first win of the season for the Mountaineers and Carissa McDowell received the loss for Sehome.

Mount Baker’s Jordan Miles went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI. Emily Yost went 3 for 4 with a home run. Kaylea Sleveland went 2 for 4 and earned her first hit on varsity. Sehome’s Gabby Gorosave went 2 for 3 with a home run.

“Sehome hit the ball well and put us on our heels a bit. We kept our heads in it and chipped away,” Mount Baker coach Ron Lepper said in a phone interview. “We busted open a big inning in the fourth.”
