Lynden defeats Blaine 9-1

Blaine’s softball team came out rusty on defense and committed six errors in its 9-1 defeat against Lynden on Tuesday, March 17, at Pipeline Fields.

Hannah Rothwell earned the win for Lynden and Lyric Berry received the loss for Blaine.

“I was very pleased with how we pitched,” Blaine coach Alisa Burk said in a phone interview. “We just made a lot of errors that killed us.”

Blaine’s Berry went 3 for 3 in the box and Lexi Greguski went 2 for 3. Lynden’s Jenna Bonsen went 3 for 5, scoring a run with three RBI. Kaylee Vis went 4 for 5 with three RBI.

The Borderites will take on Nooksack Valley next at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, at home and Lynden takes on Sehome next at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Daniels Field.
