Tanner Jansen was able to score the winning run on a passed ball in the ninth inning to lift the Lynden Christian baseball team to a 2-1 victory against La Conner on Tuesday, March 17, at La Conner High School.
La Conner started the game with a run in the first inning and wasn’t able to score the rest of the game. The Lyncs were able to get the tying run across the plate in the fourth inning.
“We struggled a bit early and held it together,” Lynden Christian coach Desi Luna said in a phone interview.
Lynden Christian’s Jansen was able to earn himself the win after scoring the winning run. But it was Dylan Meenk’s play at catcher that caught Luna’s eye.
