Bellingham’s baseball team pulled out to an early 2-0 lead but Anacortes eventually defeated Bellingham 19-2 in five innings in a Northwest Conference game on Friday, April 25, at Bellingham.
Bellingham’s two runs in the first came off a two-RBI double by Nate Pearsall.
“The team came out pretty energetic,” Bellingham coach David Farrell said in a phone interview. “Nate’s been great. He’s been a pretty solid bat in the lineup.”
The Seahawks used a six-run third inning and an 11-run fifth inning to push the lead.

“I, as head coach, just did not get them prepared for today,” Farrell said. “I didn’t do a good job of setting things up and I didn’t get them ready to play. It falls on me.”
