Sehome High School for the second straight year has won the WIAA’s Scholastic Cup Champions award. The WIAA announced the news in a press release Tuesday, June 7.
The Mariners scored 1,355 points, edging out Selah by 10 points. The win was Sehome’s sixth Scholastic Cup title.
The year-long competition recognizes the top school in each classification based on academic, athletic and sportsmanship excellence. Sehome won titles in boys’ cross country and boys’ tennis and also won academic titles in boys’ tennis and girls’ soccer.
Squalicum finished fifth with 1,020 points, and Bellingham also cracked the top 10 with 815 points. Lynden Christian finished sixth place in Class 1A with 730 points.
