Natalie Verry finished with an individual score of 103 and was the only golfer to make the cut at the Class 1A Bi-Distict Tournament for Mount Baker’s girls’ golf team on Monday, May 18, at Useless Bay Golf and Country Club.
The cut for the district tournament was set at 105.
The Mountaineers’ No. 1 golfer Gemma Wilson shot a 109. Bria Henthorn finished with a 111 and Ellie Baddeley scored a 117 at the tournament.
“We played pretty well. It was a pretty tight course,” Mount Baker coach Mike Lembo said in a phone interview. “There was a lot more target golf than we are used to. All the girls were higher in their scores than they normally are.”

The Mountaineers finished 10th overall in the district tournament. South Whidbey took the 1A district championship.
Meridian’s Anna Ratzlaff finished the tournament with an individual score of 111, missing the cut.
The top 13 individuals from the district tournament qualify for the state tournament.
The Class 1A State Tournament will be played on May 27 and 28 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.
