Miller and Thompson win 2 events each for Meridian

Nick Miller won the 100 and the 200 to lead Meridian’s boys’ track and field team against Bellingham and Blaine on Thursday, May 7, at Meridian High School.

Miller ran a winning time of 11.35 seconds in the 100 and 22.82 in the 200.

Isaiah Thompson swept the hurdles for the Trojans, running winning times of 15.93 (100) and 43.97 (300).

Bellingham’s Jakob Chamberlin threw a winning mark of 143 feet in the discus and 152-11 in the javelin. Payton Porter won the long jump with a mark of 18-10 and 39-00.5 in the triple jump.

Jon Fakkema was the only winner for Blaine in the meet after throwing a 46-05 mark in the shot put.

Bellingham and Blaine will all compete next at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Class 2A Sub-District meet at Civic Stadium. Meridian will compete next at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, in the Class 1A District Championship at King’s High School.
