Mandy Hayes and Emily Rowe defeated their opponent in straight sets at No. 1 doubles in Blaine’s 5-2 girls’ tennis loss against Anacortes on Wednesday, May 6, at Blaine High School.
“Mandy and Emily really moved around the court well today,” Blaine coach John Freal said in a phone interview. “They ran down just about everything.”
At No. 3 doubles, Borderites Breanna Chau and Kjirstin Larson defeated their opponent in two sets.
“They played a good match. Breanna had an amazing season for being a first year player,” Freal said. “She hit a lot of good shots tonight.”

Blaine will play next at noon Friday, May 8, in the Class 2A Northwest Sub-District Tournament at Sehome High School.
