Wilson leads Baker at Avalon

Mount Baker’s Gemma Wilson took the medalist position in a Northwest Conference girls’ golf event on Monday, May 4, at Avalon Golf Course.

Wilson shot a 95 to lead her team to first at the match with a 527 team score. Her teammate Bria Henthorn was second with 100.

“We played really well,” Mount Baker coach Mike Lembo said in a phone interview. “This was our first conference win of the season. The girls played great. Three girls had their best score of the season. It’s good to see them coming around.”

Ferndale was second with another balanced team effort. Haizel Allen led the team with a 100.

Sehome was fourth, led by Taylor Firmstone’s 101.
