Smith wins No. 1 singles in Sehome’s 7-0 win

Lauren Smith defeated Kassidee Beuse 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles match to lead Sehome’s girls’ tennis team to a 7-0 victory against Sedro-Woolley on Friday, May 1, at Sedro-Woolley.

Both Smith and Beuse were undeafeated with a record of 11-0 on the season.

“This was the first time they met each other,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “It was a super close match. Both played extremely well.”

Sehome will take on Blaine next at 3:30 p.m. Monday, May 4, at home.
