Smith stellar for Sehome in 7-0 win

Sehome’s girls’ tennis team swept all of its matches against Burlington-Edison in its 7-0 victory on Thursday, April 16, at Sehome High School.

Lauren Smith won her match for Sehome 6-0, 6-0 and didn’t allow any unforced errors.

“Lauren’s match was great,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “She dominated her opponent.”

The brand new No. 1 doubles team for Sehome consisted of Andrea Zucchi and Taylor Harris, who defeated their opponent 6-1, 6-2.

“They handled Burlington’s doubles really well,” Giller said. “They had total control of the match.”

Sehome will take on Squalicum next at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 20, on the road.
