Lynden, Nooksack Valley each have 2 athletes win 2 events

Four athletes won two individual events to lead all boys’ track and field participants at the double dual between Nooksack Valley, Blaine and Lynden on Thursday, April 16, at Nooksack Valley.

Connor Beard and Conner Jones each won a pair of events for the Pioneers. Beard took the 100 with a sprint of 11.58 seconds and won the triple jump with a distance of 41 feet, 6 inches. Jones won the 1,600 and 3,200 with times of 5:11.60 and 12:05.00, respectively.

Lynden’s Jordan Thompson was also a double event winner in the two hurdles events. In the 110 hurdles he ran a 17.23, and had a 42.63 in the 300 hurdles. Thompson was also on both of Lynden’s winning relay teams.

The Lions had another double event winner in Nick Faber. He won the long jump with a 20-04.00, and the high jump with a 6-02.00.

Blaine had two athletes tie for the win in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet even — Alex Gehringer and Gage Lott.

Lynden will take part in the Add It Up Invite on Saturday, April 18, at Franklin Pierce District Stadium in Seattle. Blaine and Nooksack Valley will be at the Eason Invitational on the same day at Snohomish High School.
