Squalicum sweeps doubles in 5-2 win

Squalicum’s girls’ tennis team swept the three doubles matches in its 5-2 victory against Blaine on Tuesday, April 14, at Squalicum High School.

Kim Dorr and Rachel Dorr won the first doubles match against Gretchen Kordes 6-0, 6-1 for Squalicum. Stefanie Linbach and Thu Ton won the third doubles by a score of 6-3, 7-6 (5).

“I was impressed with Thu Ton today,” Squalicum coach Jim O’Brien said in a phone interview. “She improved quite a bit over the break and made some great shots today.”

Squalicum takes on Ferndale next at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at Ferndale.
