Atwood-Knudson continues to shine at Burlington Invite

Maddi Atwood-Knudson shot a 90 over 18 holes to lead all Whatcom County girls’ golfers at the Burlington Invite on Monday, April 13, at Skagit Golf and Country Club.

Atwood-Knudson led the Squalicum team to the best finish among Class 2A schools as it took sixth overall with a 416. She was 10 shots off of the medalist, Renee Kwak from Kamiak.

Amanda Mirante of Lake Stevens and Dylan Belcher of Hoquiam tied for the nine-hole medalist position. Three golfers from each team played 18 holes and the other three played nine, with only the two best nine-hole scores counting toward the team score.

Bellingham was led to a seventh place finish by Alex Ferrier’s 99 over 18 holes. The Red Raiders had a team score of 425.

Mount Baker tied for 16th with a 471 and was led by Gemma Wilson’s 98 over 18 holes. Sehome’s Hannah Peterson shot a 99 on 18 holes and led her team to a 519. Ferndale scored 521 and was led by Angel Carrillo’s 124 on 18 holes.
