Lions girls’ tennis beats Friday Harbor

The Lynden girls’ tennis team earned a 5-0 win during a non-conference match against Friday Harbor on Saturday, March 28, at Friday Harbor.

“We do this as a bonding trip, the ferry ride and the whole works,” Lynden coach Trey Ballard explained in a phone interview. “It’s a lot of fun, and the kids have fun doing it.”

Lions Abbi Steele and Bridget Johnson won their singles matches, the doubles duo Emily Brown and Tara Gartner won a close three-set match.

Next for Lynden (1-3) is a non-league match against Squalicum at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 30.
