Haggen throws 2 new personal records for Sehome

The Sehome boys’ track team finished in seventh place with 36 points on Saturday, March 28, in the Don Holder Relays at Eisenhower High School.

Mariners thrower Tyler Haggen set a new personal record with a mark of 154 feet, 4 inches in the javelin, which was fourth overall in the meet. He also set a personal record with a 151-4 mark in the shot put.

Kirby Overman finished fourth in the 1,600 with a time of 4 minutes, 33 seconds, and Colton Johnsen finished third in the 3,200 with a time of 10:03.

“The kids needed to get big race experience. For a full-day meet, the kids did a good job staying focused and it’s going to benefit us later in the year,” Sehome coach Kevin Ryan said in a phone interview.

Sehome will host Lynden, Mount Baker and Bellingham next at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at Civic Stadium.
