Mariners sweep doubles, top Anacortes 6-1

Sehome’s girls’ tennis team didn’t drop a single game in doubles play in a 6-1 Northwest Conference win over Anacortes on Friday, March 27, at Anacortes.

The Mariners’ Simone Hall also earned a 6-0, 6-0 win over Lali Kushner.

“We played really well and I was happy that the girls kept their focus and stuck to their game plan,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “It can be easy to get complacent and I thought they were very composed and business-like.”

Other Sehome winners were Andrea Clawson and Lauren Smith in singles, and the teams of Taylor Harris and Natalie Knops, Ali Morrow and Andrea Zucchi and Mia Zucchi and Hailey Holland.

Sehome hosts Bellingham at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 30, at Sehome High School.
