Squalicum’s girls’ golf team shot a team score of 422 and finished fourth place on Thursday, March 26, at the Lee Dolquist Memorial in the Apple Tree Golf Course.
The Storm’s Maddi Atwood-Knutzen led the team, shooting a 90 on the day. Christina Kim shot a 99.
“For not having played the course, the girls did a good job adjusting to the conditions,” Squalicum coach Ted Sherman said in a phone interview. “Each had their breakout moments. They did a good job and battled.”
Mount Baker finished with a team score of 442 in the tournament. Led by Gemma Wilson who finished with a score of 97 and Natalie Verry shot a 109.

“We kind of struggled. I thought we could have played better,” Mount Baker coach Mike Lembo said in a phone interview.
Mount Baker hosts the North Bellingham 9 tournament next at 3 p.m. Monday, March 30, at North Bellingham Golf Course. Squalicum will compete in the North Bellingham 9 next as well.
