Sehome tennis earns 6-1 victory

The Sehome girls’ tennis team swept its singles matches and earned a 6-1 non-conference win over Squalicum on Thursday, March 26, at Sehome High School.

Andrea Clawson, Lauren Smith, Simone Hall and Ali Morrow were the Mariners’ singles winners, and combined they only lost two games.

“Once again my singles played really well from the first singles to fourth singles,” Sehome coach Bonna Giller said in a phone interview. “They’ve only dropped dive games total, so they continue to play strong.”

Squalicum’s one win came from Kim Dorr and Rachel Dorr at No. 1 doubles. They beat Sehome’s Taylor Harris and Andrea Zucci 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (8-6), and Giller billed it the highlight of the match.
